Intelligence Division
Tactical / Analytical Intelligence
The Intelligence Division is responsible for gathering, storing, evaluating, and distributing criminal intelligence information. This information is collected for the purpose of identifying criminal patterns, trend developments, identification of suspects, and identifying officer safety issues.
The division serves as a network between our agency and outside agencies. We work closely with other intelligence officers and analysts in neighboring states to combat any criminal patterns that are identified. Any information that pertains to our city or criminal cases within our city is disseminated to the patrol officers or investigators that have been assigned to the cases.
Our division manages a community outreach program, also known as Project Shield. Project Shield is a public-private partnership that originated in the City of Mobile, through the Mobile Police Department Cyber-Intelligence Unit. This partnership allows law enforcement and first responders access to IP-based live video feeds and camera systems during times of critical emergency and investigation. We are always looking for more productive and efficient ways to protect our community. This program gives us an opportunity to have a closer relationship with residents and business owners within the City of Orange Beach. If you have any interest in becoming a member of Project Shield, please email Lieutenant Keven Lonsdale or call 251-981-3582.
If you have any information that you would like our department to be notified about (drug activity, suspect information, etc.) please email our Intelligence Division or call 251-981-1018.
