City Attorney

The Legal Department provides legal counsel to the Mayor, City Council and other City officials.

Our goal is to render high quality legal services to the City of Orange Beach and its officials.

We provide legal advice and render advisory opinions to the Mayor, the City Council, Department Heads, agencies and boards relative to all aspects of City government, including ordinances, contracts, policies, procedure, compliance with state and federal law, claims and collections, enforcement of local ordinances, and real estate matters.

The Legal Department participates in litigation involving the City in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels.

The City Attorney is strictly prohibited from providing legal advice of any kind to citizens, individuals or businesses.

Jamie Logan, City Attorney

Biographical Summary

Jamie earned her BSBA degree in Finance from Auburn University in 1999. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2002 and immediately began working in Guntersville, Alabama handling various types of law including family law, civil litigation, criminal defense, municipal law, appellate and probate law.  She represented the city of Guntersville and the town of Grant, Alabama as both municipal Attorney and Prosecutor and handled numerous appellate cases before both the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and the Supreme Court of Alabama.

In 2016 Jamie commissioned into the United States Navy Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG) served as general counsel to over 30 distinct commands advising on issues including criminal disciplinary actions, personnel issues, ethics, drafting and implementing command policies and procedures, Congressional inquiries, FOIA requests and deployment readiness.  Jamie earned the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon.  

In 2022 Jamie left service in the JAG Corps to join the City of Orange Beach as City Attorney. As City Attorney she advises the Mayor, Council, City Administrator and Department Heads and Supervisors on all aspects of municipal law.
