1. How do I get a copy of a Police report?

A report can be obtained by contacting the Administration office at 251-981-9777 or by coming to the Orange Beach Police Department located at 4480 Orange Beach Boulevard Orange Beach, AL 36561. 

There is a $5 charge for all copies of reports. Please have any pertinent information (such as case numbers, dates, locations, and or names of the person(s) involved) to ensure prompt and accurate service.

2. How do I get fingerprinted?

The Orange Beach Police Department provides fingerprinting services for a variety of reasons, including teaching credentials, adoptions, employment, sales, real estate, etc. We do not provide fingerprint services for immigration purposes; call the Orange Beach Police Department to make an appointment at 251-981-9777.

3. How do I setup visitation with an inmate?

On-site visitation is available two times a week.  To schedule an appointment, you will need to set up a visitor account by going to the following website: www.ncic.com. We offer on-site as well as remote video visitation.

VISITATION HOURS - ON SITE: Sundays & Wednesdays: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Holiday visitation will be the same as above if the holiday falls on a visitation day.

ALL visitors MUST set up an online account to visit either in person or VIDEO VISIT. Please go online to the NCIC website to set up your account. Once your online account has been set up and approved you may call the jail to set up an ON-SITE visit.

What to expect when you arrive for your visit:  When you arrive for your visit please leave all electronic devices, backpacks, purses, etc. in your vehicle. Have your photo Identification ready. No one will be allowed in to visit without an ID. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All visitors will be searched for weapons and contraband. The search may consist of a pat-down search and/or a metal detector. Visitors must be dressed properly, please do not wear clothing that would be considered too short, tight, or low cut. You will be asked to change or cover up before being allowed to visit. To be considerate of others that may have breathing issues please do not wear an overabundance of perfume or cologne. 

VISITATION HOURS - OFF SITE (VIDEO VISIT):  Video visits may be scheduled for any day of the week from the hours of 7:00 am to 9:30 pm. Please go to the NCIC website and follow the instructions on how to schedule your video visit. Once you have completed all the requirements and funded the inmate’s account you will be able to visit via video from your home computer or cell phone using the mobile app. If you need any assistance with setting up your account or setting up an appointment please call NCIC at 1-844-724-2076 or the Orange Beach Jail at 251-981-5298.  

4. I have some old, outdated prescription medications at my house. Where can I safely dispose of them?

Old prescriptions can be dangerous and should not be disposed of improperly. The Orange Beach Police Department has made a disposal site available, free of charge. You will find the drop box just inside the lobby of the Police Department.

There is no fee and the box is available 24 hours a day/seven days a week. You may leave these drugs in their original container, or seal them in a bag or other non-breakable container for disposal. No information is gathered from the containers.

5. What can I do about an animal running loose, ongoing barking dog, or other animal complaint?

Animal Control Officers are authorized to investigate canine and wildlife-related complaints. Patrol officers are able to issue citations for animal ordinance violations. Please contact the Orange Beach Police Department at 251-981-9777.

6. What if an organization claiming to be the Police calls asking for a donation?

The Orange Beach Police Department never solicits money over the phone. If you get a call claiming to raise money for the Orange Beach Police Department, report the call to the Orange Beach Police Department.

7. What should I do if I see a crime occurring?

Call 911 immediately. Be observant and make mental notes, including asking yourself:

• First and foremost, don't confront the subject(s), and stay safe!
• Are there any weapons involved?
• What is the address?
• Are there any physical characteristics such as height, weight, race, beard, scars, or tattoos?
• Can you give any clothing descriptions?
• How many people are involved?
• Are the persons involved on foot or in a vehicle, if in a vehicle, what make, model, and color?

8. When should I call 911?

When there is an emergency, lives are in danger, serious injury, serious medical condition, crime in progress, or any other situation needs immediate attention.
