Biography

Robert Stuart was elected to the City Council in August 2025. Robert and his wife Kasandra have lived in Orange Beach since 1988, have three boys that were raised in Orange Beach and now two grandsons that attend Orange Beach City Schools. Robert and Kasandra recently retired after owning and operating Sugar Sands Realty and Management in Orange Beach. They attend Island Church. Robert was born in Fairhope, Alabama, and graduated from Fairhope High School and then attended the University of South Alabama where he studied business administration. Robert was elected to the Baldwin County Board of Education in 2020 and served until the school system split. He served as the first Chairman of Orange Beach City Schools Board of Education and was tasked with creating, building and opening a school system in 90 days. He served as chairman of Orange Beach Planning Commission for 20 out of his 21.5 years on the board. He stepped down as chairman of both boards after his election to the Orange Beach City Council. He also served on the Baldwin County Board of Equalization, was a founding member of MAAAC, served as president of the Orange Beach Sports Association for 19 years and has coached rec sports for over 30 years.
