The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Marine Resources Division (MRD) reminds private vessel anglers that Alabama state waters and federal waters will open for red snapper fishing on Saturday, June 1. The season will consist of weekends, Friday through Sunday, June 1, 2019, to July 28, 2019, and Thursday, July 4.

On Friday afternoon, a group of first responders is scheduled to roll into Orange Beach, capping off a 450-mile trek that began on Monday, May 20th in Eunice, Louisiana in honor of fallen colleagues.
The 2019 Gulf Coast Brotherhood Ride is honoring 12 fallen first responders from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. It will finish at Orange Beach Fire Station No. 1, behind City Hall....
The Orange Beach Wildlife Center is hosting a Calendar Photo Contest. The contest is open to amateur photographers only, and photographs must be of local and native wildlife.
All entries must be in .JPEG format. No more than five entries per person will be accepted. Save and submit photos tagged as “last name - subject of photo - entry number.” Example: “Smith - heron - 1”.
All non-essential City of Orange Beach offices will be closed on Monday, May 27th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
Trash and recycling will not be affected. All routes will run as normal.
