Seventh-seeded Vanderbilt to face No. 1 seed Arkansas in SEC Women’s Soccer Championship on Sunday at Orange Beach Sportsplex

(Update: Seventh-seeded Vanderbilt upset No. 1 Arkansas, 3-1, in the championship.)

The 2020 SEC Women’s Soccer Championship is set: Seventh-seeded Vanderbilt will face No. 1 seed Arkansas at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. The championship will be aired live on the SEC Network. 

During the semifinals on Thursday, Arkansas held off No. 4 seed and defending champs South Carolina, 2-1, and Vanderbilt outdueled No. 3 Texas A&M in a 3-1 win.

It’s been an amazing week of soccer in Orange Beach and the weather has matched the play. Sunday’s forecast will be no different with the forecast calling for clear skies and a high near 76. 

The sportsplex is open to spectators, following all Covid-19 restrictions such as wearing masks and staying 6 feet apart from strangers. Tickets are $5 per day for adults and $2 for children. 

The Orange Beach Sportsplex is at 4389 William Silvers Parkway, just off Highway 180 (Canal Road) in Orange Beach, about 1 mile from the Foley Beach Express exit on Canal Road.
