Sea Turtle Lighting Workshop set for July 11th in Orange Beach

The Orange Beach Community Center, in partnership with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, will host a Sea Turtle Lighting Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11th for all distributors, contractors, property management professionals and homeowners’ associations.

The schedule includes:

  • 8:30 a.m. - Registration begins
  • 9 a.m. - The problem of light on sea turtle nesting beaches, presented by U.S. Fish & Wildlife.
  • 10 a.m. - Local lighting issues, presented by the City of Orange Beach
  • 10:30 a.m. - Lecture: The Who’s, What’s, Where’s of Wildlife Friendly Lighting, presented by Sesco Lighting.
  • 11:15 a.m. - Q&A session

The Orange Beach Community Center is at 27235 Canal Road.

A Gulf Shores workshop will be held Tuesday, July 9th at the Gulf Shores Activity Center, 260 Clubhouse Drive.

Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be served by Alabama Coastal Catering.
