The Orange Beach Police Department will host a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 24th in the Orange Beach Police Department Lobby.

It’s an opportunity for the public to dispose of unused prescription drugs. Remove any labels on the pill bottles and place them in the police department’s drop box in the lobby of the Police Department. OBPD will also accept syringes.

Additionally, vape pens or other e-cigarette devices from individual consumers will be accepted - only after the batteries are removed from the devices. It is important to stress that the OBPD is not responsible for removing the batteries from the devices. (If the battery cannot be removed, individual consumers can check with large electronic chain stores who may accept the vape pen or e-cigarette devices for proper disposal.)

The police department is at 4480 Orange Beach Blvd.
