After a few words from Chief Mike Kimmerling and city officials, Capt. Jeremy Lewis of Fire Station 4 doused the new Pierce Enforcer Fire Engine with water and then Pastor Fred Franks followed with a blessing before firefighters pushed it into its bay.

The city and Ono Island have a fire protection and emergency services agreement in place since Ono is not in the city limits of Orange Beach. As part of the agreement, the city purchased the new engine and equipment for approximately $550,000 with Ono repaying the cost over 10 years.
