Top 10 Safest Cities in Alabama - Orange Beach No 10

Orange Beach ranks among the Top 10 safest cities in Alabama in a report released by The Home Security Advisor. The list includes municipalities in Alabama with populations above 5,000.

To find the most secure towns and cities in Alabama, the online home security guide reviewed the FBI Uniform Crime Report figures from 2017.

Orange Beach earned the No. 10 spot on the list with a population of 6,073 and the FBI data showing 11 violent crimes and 189 property crimes. The numbers are particularly noteworthy considering Orange Beach hosts upwards of 100,000 visitors during the peak summer months.

Home Security Advisor tabulated both “Violent Crimes” (aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery) and “Property Crimes" (burglary, arson, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft).  In order to reflect the gravity of the criminal activity, the figures were weighted with violent crimes factored by .75 and property crimes by .25 and then divided by the population in the community.

The 10 safest cities in Alabama, according to the data, are as follows:
