OBBIDB to host Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill

The Orange Beach Business and Industrial Development Board will host a special meeting with Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 16 at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach. The public is invited to attend.

Secretary Merrill will discuss the upcoming June primary election in Alabama and share important information about the upcoming U.S. Census. The 2020 Census will be critical for the State of Alabama as a Congressional seat and specific federal funding may be in jeopardy based on the how the Census shows population trending for Alabama.

The Business and Industrial Development Board encourages all citizens to vote when elections are held and to participate fully in the Census in coming years. Hearing important information on these and other topics is key to building a stronger, more informed citizenry.

The meeting will also be a great opportunity to see the new gallery at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach on beautiful Wolf Bay.
