Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday 2018

Along with Baldwin County and the majority of local cities, Orange Beach is participating in Alabama’s Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday from Friday, July 20th through Sunday, July 22nd.

It’s a great time to save money and support local businesses in Orange Beach. The tax holiday applies to school-related clothing, supplies and certain electronic equipment.

Among the treasures of history at the Orange Beach Indian & Sea Museum is an 1891 General Map of Alabama.

The Geological Survey of Alabama was conducted by State Geologist Eugene Allen Smith, Ph.D. The map was donated to the museum and originally had belonged to C.F. Atiaway, one of the first employees of the Alabama Commission of Forestry (1919-1920).

Friends of Army Aviation Ozark Huey

On Saturday, August 4th, the nonprofit Friends of Army Aviation - Ozark will be providing "Legacy Helicopter Rides" in a vintage Vietnam War-era Bell UH-1 Huey combat helicopter from the helipad, near the Orange Beach Event Center at The Wharf.

Orange Beach 1910 schoolhouse

The first schoolhouse built by the Baldwin County school system in Orange Beach opened in 1910 and still stands today.
