Mayor Kennon leading Expect Excellence meeting

In front of over 100 parents, teachers, community leaders, Orange Beach Sports Association members, and Baldwin County public school officials, Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon unveiled the city's new "Expect Excellence" after-school program that will focus on academics, arts and athletics. Portions of the program will begin in the coming weeks at the Orange Beach Recreation Center.

2018 Arbor Day flyer

Orange Beach will observe Arbor Day with a tree giveaway from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24. The city will give away saplings in front of the Orange Beach Community Development building at 4101 Orange Beach Blvd. Seedling varieties will include button bush, river birch, chestnut oak and bald cypress.

The Orange Beach Garden Club will host its 31st Annual Garden Club Game Day and Salad Luncheon on Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. ‘til 3 p.m. at The Event Center at The Wharf (4671 Wharf Pkwy.). The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach and the Friends of the Arts announced that Sara Dollison was the winner of the first-ever Orange Beach Festival of Art poster contest.
