On Fat Tuesday, February 16, 2021, all non-essential City of Orange Beach offices will be closed for the Mardi Gras holiday. Trash and recycling routes will not be affected.
City offices will reopen for normal business hours on Wednesday, February 17.
Due to public safety concerns, the City of Orange Beach has canceled its annual Fat Tuesday parade on February 16th, and the Mystics and Marshals’ night parades on Saturday, February 13th.
In line with the city, The Wharf has also canceled its annual parade on Monday, February 15th.
While all parades have been canceled, the City of Orange Beach and The Wharf teamed up to provide a safe, family-friendly alternative to celebrate Mardi Gras on Saturday, February 13th on Main Street. The Boom Boom 2021 Mardi Gras Fireworks event will begin at 5 p.m. with music under the palms. The SPECTRA Laser Light Experience shows will play at 6 p.m. and immediately following the fireworks display at 7 p.m. This socially distant event will still allow some good times to roll in a safe manner.
The public can watch the fireworks display from a variety of locations. Check out The Wharf’s map on the City Website to find the perfect, open-air viewing spot, whether it be spread out on Main Street or from cars, trucks and boats.
