City of Orange Beach | March 31, 2022

It is with a heavy heart that we inform the community of the passing of our former Orange Beach Fire Chief, Mickey Robinson, early this morning - Thursday, March 31, 2022. He was the city's first fire chief. 

The Orange Beach Wildlife Center is holding its annual Wildlife Calendar Photo Contest.  

The contest is open to amateur photographers only, and photographs must be of local and native wildlife. All entries must be in .JPEG format and in their original state - no editing. No more than five entries per person will be accepted. 

Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon and the City Council invite the community to a Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, March 30th at 6 p.m. at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center.

The mayor and council will discuss the decision to form a new city school system, separating from Baldwin County Public Schools.

Local students in Kindergarten through 5th grade are encouraged to put on their entrepreneurial hats with the return of the free educational Lemonade Day program to Coastal Alabama!

The Orange Beach Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Monday, March 14th for the regular meeting in the Council Chambers at City Hall. 

Orange Beach residents are invited to sign up to get their pet(s) microchipped and/or vaccinated for rabies. 

Residents can stop by City Hall to fill out forms for the free vaccination and microchipping for their dogs and/or cats. Orange Beach City Hall is located at 4099 Orange Beach Blvd. 

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ (ADCNR) Marine Resources Division (MRD) announces that Alabama state waters and federal waters will open to private and state-licensed charter vessel anglers for red snapper harvest on Friday, May 27, 2022.

The Orange Beach Wildlife Center is in need of volunteers. A Volunteer Interest Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 15th at 4 p.m. at the Orange Beach Coastal Resources building, 4697 Walker Avenue.

The Wildlife Center needs help with fundraising, capture & transport, animal care, education, special events and construction/building projects.

(Please note that the new Orange Beach City School System will follow the same calendar as Baldwin County Schools for the 2022-23 year.)
