MONTGOMERY – Governor Kay Ivey on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 issued an amended Safer at Home Order to be applied statewide. The current order, which took effect on May 22, was previously set to expire on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. but has been extended to expire on July 31, 2020 at 5:00 p.m - with no major changes.

Lamar Pendergrass believes in the old saying that good things come to those who wait.
The timing of the renovations to Gulf State Park Pier is not what was planned, but Pendergrass assures everyone it will be worth the wait.
In observance of Independence Day, non-essential city offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd.
Trash and recycling will not be affected. All routes will run as normal.
Offices will open for normal hours on Monday, July 6th.

Orange Beach Fire Rescue is now accepting applications for the Resident Volunteer Firefighter Program (RVFP). The RVFP is designed to give young men and women an opportunity to pursue a career in Fire and Emergency Services.
From the Intracoastal Waterway to the Gulf of Mexico, Fourth of July celebrations are planned in Orange Beach, with appropriate social-distancing protocols in place. Please remember that fireworks are prohibited in Orange Beach, except for professionally produced and permitted shows.
Pardon Our Progress: Please be aware that beginning on Monday, June 22, ALDOT’s Canal Road widening contractor is scheduled to start widening operations on the south side of the roadway. A lane closure will be required for this work to be performed.
The limits of the lane closure will be between Gulf Bay Road and State Highway 161/Orange Beach Blvd. in the eastbound outside lane.
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) cautions the public that the risk of contracting the novel coronavirus COVID-19 remains. More than 800 cases were reported on June 11. With ongoing community transmission, it is safer to be at home.
