The Monthly Community Potluck will be held on Monday, March 2nd at the Orange Beach Community Center.

Divemaster Mark Bollinger will return with an updated video of our beautiful Gulf that he has photographed underwater. 

Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 6:30. Everyone is invited; just bring a dish to share for 8 to 10 people. .

Pardon Our Progress: Please be aware that starting on Monday, March 2nd, ALDOT’s Canal Road widening contractor will begin installing a new drainage pipe across Canal Road by the Orange Beach Golf Center and the work will require the closure of one westbound lane. 

While any day is a good day to go to the beach, the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach is offering a great excuse to visit Pleasure Island in March — the 46th annual Orange Beach Festival of Art is set for March 14-15. The festival will feature 100 booths of local and regional fine art, plus exciting acts on the performing arts and music stages.

The Orange Beach Golf Center will host its last Skins Game Tournament of the 2019-2020 season on Sunday, March 1, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The public is welcome.

There are Skins on all 18 holes, a closest-to-the-pin contest, and $250 for a hole-in-one on any of the 18 holes. 

Alabama’s 9th annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday will be held Friday, February 21st through Sunday, February 23rd. Alabamians are encouraged to stock up on a variety of supplies for protecting their homes or businesses during Alabama’s tornado and hurricane seasons.

The City of Orange Beach welcomes all guests to the City of Orange Beach for Spring Break. Our city is a beautiful, family-oriented beach resort community. During Spring Break, we traditionally experience increases in underage drinking, disorderly conduct and illegal drug use.

Ford Handley, Finance Director for the City of Orange Beach, has Orange Beach in his blood -- he’s been visiting the area since he was three years old. His family moved here from Houston, Texas, in 2000, when he graduated high school. He moved here permanently after college and is carrying on the family tradition in the Finance Department.

The widening of SR-180/Canal Rd. between Foley Beach Express and SR-161 in Orange Beach began in September 2019 and anticipated completion is December 2020.

The Orange Beach Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Monday, February 10th for its regular meeting in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
