ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (Dec. 31, 2020) — The Wharf’s annual New Year’s Eve events, including both the Kids Confetti Drop presented by Beachball Properties and Reelin’ in the New Year presented by Pepsi, WKRG and Miller Lite, have been postponed due to projected severe weather conditions in the area. The two events will now be combined and take place on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Orange Beach residents can dispose of live Christmas trees for recycling by placing trees, completely stripped of decorations and tinsel, on their curbs for pickup by Public Works.
In order to be recycled, trees must be stripped of all decorations and they cannot be flocked.
Flocked trees are not recyclable and will not be picked up for recycling.
The Coastal Alabama Annual E-Cycling and Shred Day will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, January 9th at the Gulf State Park Pavilion, 22250 E Beach Blvd.

Happy Holidays! I hope this finds you all well and safe. As many of you are aware Governor Ivey extended the “Safer at Home” order through January 22, 2021. This order includes keeping the Senior Center closed as well.
During the 2020 Christmas holiday in Orange Beach, all non-essential city offices will close at noon on Wednesday, December 23rd and all day Thursday and Friday, December 24th and 25th.
City offices will also be closed on New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1st.
For both holiday weeks, the Friday residential trash routes will run on Saturday.
The City of Orange Beach’s debris contractor CrowderGulf will temporarily suspend debris pickup operations through the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, beginning on Wednesday, December 23rd. Pickup will resume on Monday, January 4th.
The Orange Beach Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 3 p.m. Monday, December 14th for a work session followed by 4 p.m. regular meeting in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
