Due to utility work associated with the Canal Road widening project, there will be lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for two days at the following location:
Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon and the City Council invite the public to a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, October 1st at the Orange Beach Event Center. The Town Hall will begin after the 5 p.m. City Council meeting and work session, which will also be at the Event Center. Those attending the Town Hall should arrive between 5:30 and 6.

MONTGOMERY – At the Alabama Community College System board of trustees meeting on Wednesday, Chancellor Jimmy H. Baker announced the selection of Dr. Craig Pouncey as president of Coastal Alabama Community College. Pouncey’s appointment was unanimously approved by the board of trustees.
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) will open an additional three-day private angler recreational season for red snapper in October 2019. The additional days will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, October 4, and run until midnight on Sunday, October 6.

Escambia County moves forward with major road swap with the state

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR-TV) — Thursday night [Sept. 5, 2019] Escambia County commissioners unanimously approved a major road swap with the state.
The Orange Beach Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 9th for a work session followed by 4 p.m. regular meeting in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Planning a Graceful Journey with Aging Parents, a four-week seminar to provide information that will help individuals prepare for the future with their parents, will be held for four consecutive Tuesdays (Sept. 17, Sept. 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8) from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Brooks Center at Orange Beach United Methodist Church at 28751 Canal Road.
Orange Beach Police Chief Joe Fierro introduced three new officers and a new Support Services Technician to the City Council at its meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
