Visitors and residents in Orange Beach need to be aware that after a two-day delay the single-lane closure on Canal Road, between Ace Hardware and Cosmo’s restaurant started today - Wednesday, September 25th. This road work, associated with ALDOT’s widening of Canal Road, will require that section of the northerly westbound lane to remain closed for one to two weeks.
The October Community Potluck at the Orange Beach Community Center on Monday, October 7th will feature information about Makos Academics, Arts & Athletics Club with MAAAC President Ryan Long and board member Robert Stewart.

GULF SHORES, Ala. – State Highway 135 through Gulf State Park will undergo necessary improvements and repairs from Sept. 24 until Christmas Eve. The road will be closed to all vehicles, hikers and bikers beginning Sept. 24, but will reopen Oct. 9-14 during the 48th Annual National Shrimp Festival.

Baldwin, Ala- The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin a major road widening project on State Route 180/Canal Rd. Work is expected to start Monday, September 23, though some preliminary utility work has been underway.
UPDATE on Sept. 19, 2019: The contractor finished work on Thursday and no road closure will be needed on Friday, Sept. 20. The lane will still be closed on Monday for one to two weeks.
The Orange Beach Golf Center will host the first Skins Game Tournament of the 2019-20 fall/winter season on Sunday, October 6th, and then on the first Sunday of each month through March, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The public is welcome.
There will be Skins on all 18 holes, a closest-to-the-pin contest, and $250 for a hole-in-one on all 18 holes.
