KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the teams and pairings for the 2018 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round. The 30-team NAIA Opening Round event at 15 campus locations will occur on Nov. 17.

ORANGE BEACH – The Alabama Retail Association has selected Orange Beach as a 2018 host city for its third annual Shop Alabama for the Holidays tour! Alabama Retail will promote the statewide shopping initiative and announce its new holiday hashtag campaign, #DoubleYourGift, during the city’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 5:30 pm at The Wharf.

It was an exciting night of award recognition and announcements for beach businesses at the Orange Beach City Council meeting on Tuesday, November 6th. Yolanda “Yo” Devine Johnson, business advisor for the Alabama Small Business Development Center – University of Alabama, spearheaded the presentation.

Jimmie Lee Fitts of Orange Beach won $250 for a hole-in-one on Hole 3, sponsored by Cox Pools, at the Orange Beach Golf Center’s November Skins Game.

Michael Lovett of Cox Pools in Orange Beach presented Fitts with the check for $250 on Wednesday, November 11th at the Golf Center, and Mayor Tony Kennon congratulated Fitts on his win.

Prescribed Burn planned for Eagle Loop Section of Gulf State Park between Nov. 7-30

A prescribed burn is planned at Gulf State Park as part of a forest management plan associated with longleaf pine restoration, fuel reduction and invasive species control. The planned burn will take place in the Eagle Loop section of the park near Lake Shelby sometime between November 7-30, 2018, weather permitting.
