Due to Tropical Storm Gordon, the Orange Beach City Council rescheduled its regular meeting to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11th, followed by the Committee of the Whole meeting.
For the last several months, the Orange Beach "Edward H. Carroll Sr." Kids Park has been under renovation by city crews and work continues.
Anyone who visits the park for the first time since the upgrades began will find:
The Orange Beach Wind and Water Learning Center is starting up its after-school sailing program again.
Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Students will need to bring a water bottle, life jacket and water shoes. Classes will be held until Oct. 30, weather permitting. There is a 48-hour notice required for any cancellations.
The Orange Beach Senior Center will be hosting a Flu Shot Clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 7th.
The clinic is sponsored by CVS Pharmacy. Each participating individual is reminded to bring his or her Medicare or insurance card. Cash pay is $35.

This morning [August 28, 2018] the Orange Beach Department received multiple calls of suspicious packages being left on the porch of their houses. All of these calls in Orange Beach have been investigated and found to be non-credible and no packages were found. The Orange Beach Police Department is currently investigating the origin of these calls.
On August 26th, 2018, at approximately 0400 hours, the Orange Beach Police Department received multiple calls from concerned residents of suspicious individuals in the area walking around their houses and vehicles.

Phillip West is ready to put on his gear and swim out to try the newest attraction on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Walter Marine of Orange Beach is deploying 166 modules in three locations to create snorkel reefs.
Save the Date! Area residents are urged to show their pride in Orange Beach’s waterways and beaches by participating in the 31st Annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup scheduled for Saturday, September 15th, from 8 a.m. until noon.
