The Orange Beach Garden Club will host its 31st Annual Garden Club Game Day and Salad Luncheon on Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. ‘til 3 p.m. at The Event Center at The Wharf (4671 Wharf Pkwy.). The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach and the Friends of the Arts announced that Sara Dollison was the winner of the first-ever Orange Beach Festival of Art poster contest.

The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach will host an intimate listening experience with the local folk rock duo Sugarcane Jane from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8.

The Gulf States, including Alabama, have submitted proposals for an alternative style of red snapper management for private and state charter vessel anglers during 2018 and 2019. If approved by NOAA Fisheries, each state would have the ability to establish fishing season start and end dates in federal waters off their respective state’s coast.

The City of Orange Beach will present the 2018 Orange Beach Mardi Gras Parade at 2 p.m. on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The parade rolls on Perdido Beach Boulevard, beginning near Phoenix West at the traffic light and travels east, ending at the intersection of Highway 161/Orange Beach Boulevard near Rite Aid.  

The City of Orange Beach Golf Center will hold its monthly Skins Game tournament on Sunday, February 4.

The tournament is held on the first Sunday of each month, December through April, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Spectrum Resorts and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics are pleased to announce the 7th Annual "Race to the Top of the Tower at Turquoise Place,” on Saturday, March 3, at 10 a.m. This stair race up 31 floors to the top of Turquoise Place tower, is open to everyone and will benefit the Special Olympics of Alabama.

With the support of the Orange Beach City Council, the nonprofit Orange Beach Animal Care and Control Program is beginning to get a handle on controlling the stray and feral cat population in the city through a trap, neuter and return initiative.
