ALDOT resurfacing project begins on Perdido Beach Boulevard

UPDATE ON MARCH 1, 2021: Update to the paving of Perdido Beach Boulevard: In order to accommodate spring break traffic, roadwork is now taking place during nighttime hours only, 9:00PM to 9:00AM Sunday – Thursday. ALDOT will monitor the traffic and adjust accordingly.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) began resurfacing Perdido Beach Boulevard this week, starting on February 8, 2021, between the Romar Beach Public Access and the city limits at Gulf State Park.

Work is expected to take three to four weeks. After that section is complete, crews will begin resurfacing the beach highway between the Cotton Bayou Public Beach Access and the Perdido Pass Bridge.

Throughout the resurfacing project, traffic will be reduced to single lanes. The project is expected to be complete in late March or early April, weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution while driving in the area.
