
The Alabama Division of Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries Hunter Education Unit will offer an Introduction to Handguns course from 8:30 a.m. until noon this Saturday, June 25th at the Orange Beach Shooting Range, 23111 Russian Road.
It is a free course and firearms and ammunition will be provided. The only requirements are that participants be at least 16 years of age and have either an Alabama hunting or fishing license. If the participant does not, a Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries License will be needed and can be purchased for $11.70 online at https://www.outdooralabama.com/wildlife-heritage-license.
This Introduction to Handguns class focuses on firearm safety and marksmanship in a low-stress, family-friendly environment. It is perfect for those who want to learn more about firearm safety, handguns, and target shooting in a safe environment with certified firearms instructors.

- Safe handling and storage of firearms
- The parts of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers
- Marksmanship
- Live fire on paper and steel targets
