11 recruits graduate from Firefighter I/II Recruit School in Orange Beach

The Orange Beach Fire Rescue Firefighter I/II Recruit Class 19-02 graduated on Wednesday, November 20th during a ceremony at the Orange Beach Event Center.

The 11 individuals took to the stage as recruits and stepped down as sworn firefighters, with 10 representing Orange Beach Fire Rescue and one representing Chickasaw Fire Department.

The City of Orange Beach was the recipient of the 2019 Coastal Cleanup Award in Montgomery on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the 2019 Alabama PALS Governor’s Awards ceremony.

Pardon Our Progress: Canal Road widening work progressing

With ALDOT’s Canal Road widening project, the lane closure that has been in effect has shifted to the west.

The State Hwy. 161 and Canal Road intersection is now open with two left turns off 161 and the westbound lane closure is now in effect from Cosmo’s Restaurant to Gulf Bay Road.
