Additional lane closures on October 10th on Canal Road and State Hwy. 161

In addition to a section of the northerly westbound lane of Canal Road remaining closed around Cosmo's and Luna's as part of ALDOT’s road widening project, Orange Beach Water Authority will be performing corrective work to an asphalt patch located in front of the new school site between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 10th.

The asphalt patch work will require the eastbound lanes to be closed in that area, which is just west of the Cypress Village entrance, and the westbound lanes will be bi-directional through the work zone. The contractor plans to have the closure removed and the entire roadway open to traffic on or before 4 p.m., pending no conflicts.

Delineator installation

The eastbound turn lane onto State Hwy. 161/Orange Beach Boulevard will be closed Thursday night, October 10th, starting at 9 p.m. to allow for ALDOT to install additional vertical lane delineators in front of McDonalds. Eastbound Canal Road traffic turning onto Hwy. 161 will be redirected around the delineated lane.
