2019 Mardi Gras parades in Orange Beach begin to roll on March 1st

Mardi Gras parades in Orange Beach will begin to roll with The Mystical Order of Mirams Mardi Gras Parade on Friday, March 1st. The parade begins on Perdido Beach Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. at the traffic signal just east of Phoenix West and it will end at intersection at Highway 161 and Perdido Beach Boulevard. Please note where the new medians begin the parades will move to the westbound lanes (north side of the beach highway).

On Saturday, March 2nd, the Mystics of Pleasure, Pleasure Island's very first nighttime Mardi Gras parading society, will hold its parade at 6 p.m. along the same route.

The Wharf joins the Mardi Gras festivities on Monday, March 4th with "Moon Pies on Main" parades. A Kid and Pet Parade kicks off the fun at 4 p.m., followed by activities, and an evening float parade rolls at 6 p.m. For details, go to alwharf.com.

The city will hold its 2019 Orange Beach Mardi Gras Parade at 2 p.m. on Fat Tuesday, March 5

Road closures

During the night parades on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd, the city will close Perdido Beach Boulevard - between Phoenix West II and State Highway 161 - to vehicular traffic from as early as 5 p.m. until as late as 8:30 p.m. Exact lane closure times will vary leading up to the start of each parade. 

On Tuesday, March 5, the same 2-mile stretch of beach highway will be closed again from as early as 1 p.m. to as late as 4 p.m.
