
The first week-long camp begins in early June and the last one finishes in early August. The only exception is 4th of July week.
Following are details on each course offered during the Summer of 2020. Registration will open on Monday, March 2.
In January 2020, the City of Orange Beach started utilizing the ActiveNet website to handle some online registrations and activities sign-ups. Sail Camp registrations will take place on ActiveNet at https://apm.activecommunities.com/orangebeach. To get started, an account must be created. Once an account is created and children/family members are added, the information will be saved for future activity registrations. The Sail Camp registration will open at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, March 2. To go directly to a specific Sail Camp week click on one of the appropriate links below.

Level 1 Beginner Sail Camp 7-14 yrs:
For youth aged 7-14 yrs. Students will be partnered in boats (depending on size), and will learn basic sailing fundamentals in our Optimist sailboats. Students learn water safety, knot tying, steering, proper sail trim, tacking & jibing, and capsize recovery. We ensure a 5:1 ratio between our students and instructors. All Beginner Sail Camps take place from 9 a.m.-Noon.

- June 22nd – June 26th, 9 a.m. – Noon
- June 29th – July 3rd, 9 a.m. – Noon
- July 13th – July 17th, 9 a.m. – Noon

- July 27th – July 31st, 9 a.m. – Noon
*Cancellation Policy: We will issue a full refund if you let us know 2 weeks in advance to your child's scheduled start day of camp. Otherwise, no refund will be given. We do NOT issue refunds for inclement weather; camp takes place rain or shine.
Level 1 Beginner Sail Camp 6-7 yrs:
For youth aged 6-7 yrs. The student must be able to swim without fear of the water. This class will be for our youngest group of sailors and will be more tailored to the classes’ individual needs. Students will be partnered in boats (depending on size), and will learn basic sailing fundamentals in our Optimist sailboats. We recommend the beginner course to be taken multiple times until the student has mastered each skill. We ensure a 5:1 ratio between our students and instructors. Level 2 Intermediate Sail Camp 9 -14 yrs:

- June 8th – June 12th, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- June 15th – June 19th, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- June 29th – July 3rd, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- July 6th – July 10th, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- July 20th – July 24th, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Level 3 Advanced Sail Camp 10 - 14 yrs:
For youth aged 10-14 yrs. Must have taken Level 2 Intermediate. Students will learn to solo a boat; includes right-of-way rules and progression of skills. All Advanced camps take place from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
- June 22nd – June 26th, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- July 13th – July 17th, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- July 27th – July 31st, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The cost is $175/session for non-residents and $150/session for those who own property within the city limits of Orange Beach.
Creating Your ActiveNet Account
To register for activities, you will need to create an Active Orange Beach account.

Step One:
- Start by accessing our new site at https://apm.activecommunities.com/orangebeach.
Step Two:
- Click “Create an Account.
Step Three:
- Fill in your name and address. Required fields are denoted by a red asterisk (*).
- Click “Next.”
Step Four:
- Fill in your Contact Information. Required fields are denoted by a red asterisk (*).
Note: Cell phone numbers and emails are required. Both are essential communication tools for activity coordinators.
2. Click “Next” when complete.
Step Five:
- Enter your personal information. Required fields are denoted by a red asterisk (*).

Step Six:
- Provide your Emergency Contact and Account Information.
All required fields are denoted by a red asterisk (*). Create a secure password you will be able to remember, but others will not be able to guess.
2. Once you complete all required fields, click “Create Account” or “Create Account and Add Family Members” to add family members to your account. Family members can include your spouse/partner, children or other family members who live at your home address.
Register for Activities on ActiveNet

1. After selecting the activity you prefer, you will be prompted to select a participant from a dropdown menu.
Step Four:
1. Fill in the enrollment information for the participant. Some questions, such as the allergy one, require as "yes" or "no," and more details if the answer is "yes". Other questions require filling in the participant's height and weight. Rating the participant's swimming ability and T-shirt size have dropdown menus. The last question requires typing in the name of individual(s) authorized to pickup the participant. Additional questions will be part of Level 2 and Level 3 registrations.
2. Click “Next” when complete.
Step Five:
1. On the "Shopping Cart" page, you can review, edit, or remove the activity you added as well as add another participant. Click "Proceed to Checkout" once you're done.
Step Six:
1. At the Checkout page, review the registration information then initial to consent to the Program Agreement and check off the Cancellation Policy acknowledgment. Both are required before registration can be finished and payment made.
2. Click “Next” when complete.
Step Seven:
1. On the payment page put your credit card information in to complete the registration process.
Once the payment is made you will see the Confirmation page and can view a printable receipt. You will also receive an email confirmation.
