Fitness & Wellness Classes - $5 fee per class

Staying active as we age is very important for both physical and mental health.  Fitness classes are great for any activity level and can be modified for an individual's previous injuries and certain health conditions to allow anyone to benefit from the physical activity.  Classes are all drop-in, so no need to pre-register.  Classes may be cancelled due to instructor availability, please check the schedule or call the Senior Center for more information.

  • Sit & Be Fit -  Build strength and mobility all while sitting in a chair.  This class is a great option for those individuals that may have difficulty standing for longer periods of time, but still would like the opportunity to exercise and build strength and endurance.
  • Yoga for Everybody & Chair Yoga -  A gentle practice that incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and flexibility.  Chair Yoga completes similar sequence flows but modified using a chair to allow for less stress on the joints, but chairs can also be used in any yoga class for those uncomfortable going to the ground.
  • Flex & Stretch - For those looking for a little boost in heart rate, this class will provide a balanced mixture of cardio to get the blood pumping, strength to help the body, and stretching to help cool down and relax.  All class activities can be done with a chair as well.
  • Tai Chi Tai Chi is a low-impact physical and mental practice that consists of slow, circular movements. Meant to be practiced regularly to receive its full benefits, Tai Chi can be easily adapted to meet your unique mobility and fitness needs.
