The Annual Orange Beach Seafood Festival and Car Show will return to the Wharf on Saturday, February 25, 2023. The 31st annual event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festival is the major fundraising event for the Makos Academics Arts & Athletics Club (MAAAC), which directly benefits Orange Beach schools. Each year, more than 15,000 people attend the fundraising event.
The annual festival features a full day of delicious food, 100 artists from throughout the South, and music for the whole family to enjoy on two stages. In addition, there is a large Kids' Zone with activities, and a huge car show - featuring antique, classic and hot rod vehicles all along Main Street.
There is no admission charge to the event and plenty of parking. Volunteers from Orange Beach schools help park cars and donations are accepted in support of our schools.
The seafood selection in 2022 included Crawfish Pistols, Crawfish Boil, Shrimp Tacos, Fish, Red Beans and Rice, Surf & Turf Burgers, Seafood Gumbo topped with fried okra, Crab Cake and Crab Bites, among many other dishes. There was also kettle corn and an old-fashioned soda stand. Each year, there are Pepsi stations, and MAAAC volunteers run beer tents, which started during the 2022 festival.
The Arts & Crafts booths typically include handmade jewelry, metal yard and garden art, beach-art inspired signs, homemade candles, glass bird feeders, nautical decor, 3D cut glass wall art, Henna body art and clothing, among many other art, crafts and specialty items.
Vendor applications will be emailed out in the fall. To be put on 2023 mailing list for vendor spaces, fill out information in the following link: www.orangebeachal.gov/events/seafood-festival/vendor-spaces.
Each year, the open car show features antique, classic and hot rod vehicles. The registration fee for the car show in 2022 was $50 in advance and $75 day of the show. The lineup begins at 8 a.m. on the day of the event. All vehicles must be in place by 9:30 a.m. Awards are presented to Top 10 cars.
When registration opens for the Car Show, information will be posted on this page and also on the MAAAC website at www.obmaaac.org. For more information on the car show, please contact Jean Hogue 251-200-8037 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also at the 2022 event, MAAAC sold T-shirts with the winning artwork by Orange Beach High School student Seanna Howard.
