You are invited to join us for our inaugural PowHER Hour+ mini-expo and speaker series, geared to bring together women in our community in a positive and empowering atmosphere! 

The day will start off with a mini-expo featuring women owned businesses, then transition into lunch and our special guest speaker.

For our inaugural event we are happy to welcome Stacy Brown, the founder of the fast growing restaurant franchise Chicken Salad Chick! Stacy and crew opened a Gulf Shores location in 2020, who will be providing lunch for this event. 

Not only will you get to hear her story, you'll get to taste it too!

Stacy Brown never intended to open a restaurant. In 2007, she was a single mother in pursuit of the perfect chicken salad recipe and a way to provide for her children. That’s when Chicken Salad Chick was born, a true chicken salad experience that she and her business-partner-turned husband, Kevin, created.

Since 2007, the Rome, GA native and Auburn alumni has continued to inspire her team and has experienced incredible growth with this unique concept. Now, more than ten years later, Chicken Salad Chick offers guests Southern style chicken salad with over 12 varieties of flavors to choose from, as well as freshly made sides, gourmet soups, and delicious sweet treats. Chicken Salad Chick ranked #37 on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America, and was most recently selected as one of Fast Casual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers. Today, Chicken Salad Chick has over 170 restaurants across 17 states.

Among her honors, Stacy won 2014 Restaurateur of the Year for the State of Alabama and 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year for Auburn University.

Stacy currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Women’s Philanthropy Board for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, and is co-founder of the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation, a non-profit organization with the goal of feeding the hungry and fighting cancer. As someone who thrives in service-led environments, Stacy has enjoyed leading her own organization where service is the most important aspect of the brand.
