The Community Development Department is holding a Training Class for Contractors and Property Owners to learn how to apply for permits using the department's new online Permit Portal.
The class will be held on Thursday, June 27th at 11 a.m. in the Council Chambers. The class will mostly be geared to contractors (home builders, electricians, plumbers, mechanical/HVAC contractors, gas fitters, roofers, handymen, etc), but if there are property owners who will be acting as owner-builders (meaning they are building their own homes), the class would be helpful for them too.
There is no registration or RSVP required.
Beginning July 1, 2019, permit applications should be submitted online through the Permit Portal at www.orangebeachal.gov/CDDportal. In the training session, attendees will learn how to:
- Register for the Permit Portal
- Search for prior permits
- Submit new permit applications
- Upload construction plans and required documents
- Verify review status of permit applications
- Pay for permits online
- Schedule inspections online and verify status, among other things
