Youth Cheerleading

Orange Beach Youth Cheerleading

The Orange Beach Parks & Recreation Department now offers youth cheerleading in conjunction with fall youth football at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. Orange Beach Youth Cheerleading is open to all students, ages 9-12, who attend Orange Beach City Schools or are residents of Orange Beach. Registration will typically open in late July and the season runs from to early May.

Fall 2022

Participants will cheer during the Fall 2022 youth football season from September through mid-November at the Orange Beach Sportsplex and surrounding parks within Baldwin County.

Registration will be for children ages 9-12, as of August 1st, 2022. The registration fee will be $100. Online registration will be open from July 25th to August 12th.

Once registration is open, sign up online via ActiveNet by clicking the following: Cheerleading (Ages 9-12) Fall 2022.

**Please note: Girls can still play soccer while participating in cheerleading.**

Orange Beach Youth Cheerleaders cheer for Orange Beach Youth Football teams. Most games take place on Saturdays and practices are usually held once or twice per week. Practices are scheduled through the head coach. Participants will learn cheers and halftime routines. When available, cheer squads will cheer for team in their corresponding age groups. If needed, all ages can be combined to form cheer squads.

The City of Orange Beach will provide cheer shells, skirts, bloomers and pom-poms. Players will need to purchase water bottles, socks, shoes, and bows (color and designs will be decided during a parent meeting at the beginning of the season). A mandatory uniform fitting/try-on night will take place on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Office.

Volunteer coaches (head coach or assistant coach) are always needed. Apply on the City Website at https://www.orangebeachal.gov/departments/parks-recreation/youth-sports-coach. A mandatory Coaches' Clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16th.
