Vision Statement

Orange Beach Parks and Recreation brings to fruition the City's motto, "Life is better here," through a philosophy of "live, work, and play."

Orange Beach, Alabama, is located in Baldwin County on the Alabama Gulf Coast, 56 miles from Mobile and 35 miles from Pensacola. The permanent population of Orange Beach is more than 8,000, but summer visitors to the area peak near 100,000 people. The city is home to the largest charter fishing fleet on the Gulf Coast. The city has invested in some of the finest facilities and public access recreational amenities. The Orange Beach Sportsplex and the Orange Beach Recreation Center rival any in the Southeast. A full-length Aquatics Center with lap swim and diving well along with the Tennis Center and its eight hard surface courts attract serious and recreational athletes. The Orange Beach Waterfront Park, complete with a fishing pier on Wolf Bay, offers the perfect sunset viewing. A waterfront Public Library and Adult/Senior Activity Center offer programs for residents and guests of all ages. An available 300-seat Community Center is home to many special events. The Orange Beach Golf Center, a nine-hole par 3, complete with a lighted driving range gives residents and visitors an opportunity to get outdoors and practice their golf skills in a shorter amount of time. The Orange Beach Event Center at the Wharf adds a convention, reception, and event facility which can handle up to 2,500 people, and the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center can seat 700 for theater and musical performances.

Orange Beach is home to the NAIA Soccer National Championships, many fishing tournaments, and much more. Ending in 2021, the city was also home to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Women's Soccer Championship for 18 years. The City of Orange Beach was incorporated on August 1, 1984, and is one of the fastest-growing cities in the region.

Natural surroundings and the protection of our environment are a high priority. One of the few remaining Maritime Forests in the country is within the city limits and the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail offers several viewing posts. A designated Backwater Canoe Trail and the Hugh S Branyon Backcountry Trail are gaining much popularity with outdoor enthusiasts. Although the sugar-white beaches are the primary draw for tourists, many enjoy a recreation facility or natural park setting in Orange Beach during their stay.
