Training

The mission of the Training Division is to provide the City of Orange Beach with highly trained, effective, and professional firefighters. Training is one of the single most important functions of the modern fire service. Over the years the fire service has become more mentally challenging and the demand for knowledge by firefighters has steadily increased.

The Training Division consists of the Training Chief and a Training Officer and is responsible for the development, delivery, administration, and documentation of training programs. This includes ongoing training and professional development for existing department members and initial training of firefighter recruits. This is achieved by furnishing a disciplined environment conducive to learning and providing professional training and instruction to our students.

As one of the Regional Training Centers of the Alabama Fire College, Orange Beach Fire Rescue has the opportunity of training firefighters in advanced courses, including Fire Officer, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, and more. Past students have represented departments from throughout Alabama, across the country, and around the world (The Middle East, Japan, Great Britain, and beyond).
